A Heritage City, A City of the Future

Suzhou is a 2,500 year-old heritage city undergoing renaissance. For centuries, Suzhou has been a land of scholars – at one time it accounted for more than a quarter of the officials at the Imperial Courts of China.

Located at the centre of the Yangtze River Delta, Suzhou sits next to the 6th largest Metropolis in the world, Shanghai.

Including Shanghai, there are 18 cities within 3 hours' driving time of Suzhou. It has a population exceeding 80 million.

There are hi-tech industries along the Shanghai-Nanjing expressway.

The Yangtze River Delta is one of the most successfully industrialized regions in this part of China. The cities in this area are well serviced and linked by rail, river, roads and air. Suzhou is at the heart of the Yangtze River Delta.
